I would like to take this opportunity to say Thank you on behalf of the elderly and poor families from Cambodia...
To augment essential services and educational oppotunities to underserved Cambodians and inspire them to give back to their communities.
We address our challenges in two ways:
We partner with existing local organizations (orphanages, schools, and village leaders) in Cambodia to enhance the provision of services to their communities. Our assistance is primarily financial. We fund specific improvements, purchase learning materials, and coordinate the creation of sister schools/communities that engage Cambodian children with their counterparts in the U.S.A.
Through these local partners we have a more direct relationship with the children and communities that are enduring the lack of opportunity associated with poverty and lack of education. Our selected local partners understand their communities can work with them to identify and prioritize issues. Local decision making means greater community ownership and sustainability of the programs and projects.
We offer various free community programs at our facility, including English language instruction and computer labs, directly to Cambodian students. We are creating a network of volunteers who will serve for limited periods of time as guest teachers and mentors to our students.
Our emphasis on English language instruction is predicated on the knowledge that career opportunities within Cambodia are greatly enhanced if one speaks English.
